Kanji records
The 2,136 kanji and English glosses come from the existing MojiMichi KANJIDIC-derived dataset. The 2010 Agency for Cultural Affairs table supplies official Jōyō on’yomi, kun’yomi, examples and printed parenthesized forms. The existing MojiMichi origin notes point to individual KanjiPedia entries.
Dates and uncertainty
A script’s broad history does not establish when each individual character first appeared in Japanese. We identify an entry-specific date only when an attached source gives one. Likewise, a character’s early sense is different from a dated history of every later meaning.
The school-grade data is from an older KANJIDIC allocation, so the twenty characters moved in the 2020 school list may appear under their former grade here.
